The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) offers specialized training for volunteers who live or work in the City of Celina. CERT trains and coordinates volunteers to prepare and respond to community or regional disasters or emergencies.
CERT's unique training and response program follows the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Celina's Emergency Management department has enhanced and customized this program to fit the needs of its residents.
Upon the program's conclusion, participants participate in a disaster game that allows them to apply the training they learned in the lessons. Graduates can remain involved as CERT volunteers by attending alumni nights, engaging in outreach and education, and assisting with some administrative tasks.
Class will start on January 22nd, meet every Thursday from 6:00-9:00 PM, and end on March 12th at the latest.
